Minor League Recap for 8/11
Notes -- Great night in Greenville last night. Horacio Ramirez made his first rehab start, Kyle Davies tossed six nasty innings, and Andy Marte and Scott Thorman both left the yard in the G-Braves 4-0 shutout. Anthony Lerew had another poor outing, but Jake Stevens is rolling again in Rome. Richmond and Danville were both washed out, and with the tropical storm and hurricane moving through the southeast over the next few days, look for more games to be postponed.
Player of the day -- Kyle Davies (Greenville) 6.0 IP, H, 3 BB, 6 SO (W 4-0, 2.80)
Norfolk Tides (NYM) at Richmond Braves -- Scheduled doubleheader has been postponed and will be made up as part of back-to-back doubleheaders on August 25th and 26th.
Record: 62-53, 1 ahead of Durham
Streak: Lost 1
Jacksonville Suns (LA) 0, Greenville Braves 4 -- Box Score
Horacio Ramirez worked two scoreless innings in his first rehab start, allowing one hit and one walk, but it was Kyle Davies who was the star of the show, giving up just one hit over six shutout innings, walking three and fanning six as the Braves blank the Suns 4-0.
3B Andy Marte provided the big stick with is 19th homer of the season on a 2-for-4 night with two RBI. 1B Scott Thorman also went deep for the seventh time in a G-Braves uniform, and RF Jackson Melian added his third, both of the solo variety.

Jake Stevens had yet another strong outing, allowing one unearned run on three hits, no walks, and seven strikeouts in six innings, but it was all for naught since the Rome offense couldn't get anything working in the 2-1 loss to Lexington.
The Braves managed just five hits on the night, with the only run coming off of a Carlos Guzman solo shot in the second inning. It was his 13th homer of the season on a 1-for-2 night, and he also drew a walk, which is always worth a mention for Guzman. CF Matt Esquivel was moved down to the ninth spot in the order to work out of his funk and responded with a 1-for-2 night with a walk and a strikeout. C Jarrod Saltalamacchia, LF Josh Burrus, and SS Diory Hernandez had the remaining three hits.
Stevens wasn't involved in the decision, but did lower his ERA to 2.33 in the process. Devin Anderson took the loss, allowing a run on one hit, a walk, and a strikeout in two innings of relief.
