Fire and Water
Ananova - Fire blamed on pet fish
You can't trust fish around electricity. And who keeps catfish as pets anyway? Catfish are for eating.

Does it go well with drawn butter?
New Animal Resembling Furry Lobster Found
The "fur" covers the crustacean's pincers and (it appears from the picture) its legs as well. The story doesn't say, but I'll speculate that it's used as a sensory apparatus as the animal is blind. Since it was found in water about a mile and a half deep, that's not surprising.

Though catfish are actually bottomfeeders
Efficiency, know-how keep farmers afloat in a competitive market
Apparently, it's fish week in the Tuscaloosa News. And apparently, Alabama is Catfish Farming Central. Alabama catfish farmers are worried about cheaper farmed fish from Vietnam.

Horse fish
Man charged over heroin in fish fillets - The Nation - Breaking News 24/7 - NEWS.com.au
This is dedication. You don't just put packets of drugs in the boxes of the fish, you actually have them sewn inside the filets. So two boxes of filets had a street value of about $2 million (Australian). And you thought that the swordfish steaks were pricey.

Mother Fisher
Anger as the mother of all illegal fishing boats netted - National - smh.com.au
A nefarious "foreign mother ship" containing 639 "tonnes" (metric tons, I guess, meaning 1000 kg = 2205 lb) of illegally caught fish has been seized in Australia. Interestingly, the story doesn't say what "foreign" place the ship is from, though since the crew is Chinese you can probably guess.

You know what this means
Adrift men survive 22 days on one fish | WORLD | NEWS | tvnz.co.nz
They're the Jesuses of being lost at sea! Actually, they beat Jesus, just like Berlusconi, because he had loaves and fishes and they had just one of the latter. They're not very good fishermen, though. I mean, lost for 22 days and they catch only one fish?

Well, if God wills
Supposedly, a fish in a shop in Lancashire has the name of Allah printed on it. I suppose that the law against images in Islam makes the usual appearances of faces on tortillas and the like inappropriate. I don't find this sort of thing convincing, because it seems kind of petty for the Almighty.

It was this small
The Seattle Times: Local News: Catch of the day: Researcher stakes claim to tiny-fish title
A University of Washington scientist says that he has a fish that is "hugely smaller" than last week's "world's smallest vertebrate". It's a matter of definition. His fish is one of those tiny males that attaches itself to the female like a parasite, or Kevin Federline. They're free-swimming only briefly. The other fish is the world's smallest vertebrate that's always an independent organism.

Leaving out the sex stuff, interesting points are:
1. No bones in the head.
2. See-through body.
3. Lives in acid.

Another one of those ironies
AP Wire | 12/31/2005 | Big Easy aquarium restocking after Katrina
Your city gets flooded, so of course the aquarium was devastated. 10,000 fish (approximately) were killed due to generator problems. They're getting donations and planning collection trips. It's hard to rebuild an aquarium nurtured over many years.
"There are no pet stores that sell 9-foot sharks," says John Hewitt, the aquarium's director of husbandry.
But wouldn't it be cool if there were?
