By their friends shall ye know them

Klan anti-immigration rally draws supporters, protesters

But immigration foes aren't racists. No. They just hang out with racists and believe the same things as racists, but they're not racists.

C'mon Mack, you can be opposed to illegal immigration (which is an entirely different thing than legal immigration under a sound and reasonable immigration policy) without being a racist. I'm about as liberal as they come around these parts (Selma/Montgomery) and I am absolutely opposed to unchecked illegal immigration. The fact that cheap labor Republicans seem to be all for it (based on their actions and their lobbying) regardless of what they have to say in public is perhaps a clue?

We need a sound legal immigration policy. And please, don't anyone try to hand me that crap about "jobs that Americans won't do" or "tomatoes that are ten bucks a pound." Americans will do any job if that job pays a living wage. And prices? Prices need not go up to any great degree given that big business can perhaps settle for a slightly lower profit instead. The "everything will go up" argument is the same line of BS that cheap labor Republicans trot out every time there is an increase in the minumum wage.

That must be why so many Americans aren't doing them. Lord knows I've seen so many pictures of poor and destitute Americans that have been locked out of the garment, agricultural, and chicken processing industries and who are just waiting for their chance to make an honest buck. Gosh, if it weren't for those Hispanics -- er, um... no one would be doing any of that.

The Hispanics, illegal or no, are filling a demand that can't be met by the homegrown population.

And please, don't anyone try to hand me that crap about "jobs that Americans won't do" or "tomatoes that are ten bucks a pound."

Yeah, they said the same thing about my ancestors when the movement began to stop us from coming in.

You know, if unemployment is so low and 80% of the farm workers in my state are illegals, then who will take their place if they're sent home? You?

Prices need not go up to any great degree given that big business can perhaps settle for a slightly lower profit instead.

And the Iraqi people will greet as with flowers and the their oil will pay for the war.

Damn tootin' that's why Americans aren't doing them. Cheap labor Republicans like it that way.

Damn, you're an idiot.

Do I really have to point out to you that the fact that some despicable people might share a belief with others, that it does NOT mean they agree on ALL of their beliefs?

Take a logic course or something. Your stupidity is embarrassing.

Not of those beliefs were born directly out of the Klan movement to begin with.

Take a history course. Your ignorance is showing.

I am surprised to see the two even being related to each other.
