Confederate soldiers saluted at Elmwood
I mean, what did they do that was worthy of tribute? Even the most ignorant redneck peckerwood has to realize that the Confederates were losers.

Losing isn't grounds for forgetting. Think of the Polish soldiers who fought against the Nazis. The bigger problem is when you remember a folly as a virtuous and hallowed cause.

It's not like they're working to help people remember actual historical facts - they're helping people "remember" tawdry sloganeering and bitter resentment.
It's a shame that the ignorant redneck peckerwoods are still the pawns of the plantation-owners of 1850.
