Pulp Nonfiction
So I am supposed to cut out the refined sugar, and I really don't like diet drinks. (It's not the taste, they just have a wrong mouth feel.) So I've taken to drinking orange juice, which is unusual for me in that I never used to at all -- I mean, literally never. And now I'm addicted to the stuff. I drank a half gallon in the last 36 hours, which can't be healthy, though my blood is now 20 percent vitamin C. Also, I am bewildered by the varieties of orange juice on sale, but that is a cliche.

I don't often drink orange juice, but when I do, I'm the same way. I can just chug it down...

Fruit juices have a lot of fructose, which isn't refined sugar of course but is still not so good in large doses. I hate to say it, but your best bet is plain ol' water.

Have you tried those flavored soda waters? Not the sugary ones, or the ones with fake sugar. It's just plain soda water with a hint of fruit flavor, usually a citrus or raspberry. You get that fizzy mouthfeel without the bizarre flattening out of diet drinks. DH likes to add about 1/4 part real juice.
They're usually on the shelf by the mixers, like tonic and ginger ale, or near the bottled water. Lots of times there's a store brand.
Good luck.
