Scrushy sues Paul Finebaum, Birmingham newspaper

Not that I have any problem with people suing Finebaum, but this is pathetic. He's suing for defamation because Finebaum (and separately, the Birmingham News) said that he started going to a black church in an attempt to influence the jury pool. Also, suing is Leslie Scrushy, because Finebaum called her "plastic", "a gold digger", "a fake", "a phony", and "an airhead". What is this, high school?

I also agree with suing Scott Stantis, but suing the News because Stantis drew a "cartoon" (I honestly don't think he's a good enough artist for those things to be called cartoons -- scribbles, maybe) depicting Santa bringing him coal for Christmas is pathetic.

My only beef with Finebaum is that I like NFL football much more than college football and Finebaum is strictly a college football kind of guy. And his show is always on during my evening commute. Ugh! Yeah, I know, I should get XML or something like that. I'm too cheap to do that however.

Michael, you'd better go for Sirius -- XM has baseball and some college football, but no NFL.

As for Richard and Leslie, they put themselves on TV to promote their point of view. I don't think they're allowed to complain when other people disagree with them. Boy, Richard is really sue-happy these days -- first HealthSouth; now this. Do you think he's ever considered that it might be a good idea to sit down and shut up?

Liberal advocacy groups are stepping up their campaign against Supreme Court

confirmation. A coalition of organizations opposing Alito has in recent
weeks established a campaign-style operation to coordinate activities,

costs are climbing far above the original estimates and some of the systems
