Congress cuts special projects
That's the Great Big Education Pork Bill. Porkmeister Shelby, predictably, is "disappointed". The Evil Little Troll, meanwhile, likes it. Shelby, however, is happy to note that "there's always another bill and another year." Yes, Dick, there is.

They saved a lousy $1 billion? Isn't our deficit usually around 500 times that much.

Well, yeah. But this way they can pretend they're doing something, even though there is no amount of pork cutting that can do anything significant to cut the deficit.
