How is that supposed to work?
U.S. orders city to allow middle school transfers
You have seventeen "failing" schools under NCLB. You have three successful schools. You're supposed to allow the entire populations of the seventeen schools, should they so desire, to transfer to the three schools? I think that the problem here is pretty obvious.

Sounds to me like you're about to have twenty failing schools instead of just seventeen.

While Huffman Middle also fell short of academic goals, it is not a school where most students are poor, which exempts it from the transfer requirement.
What? Are they saying middle class kids are just stuck at their crappy schools? And that's okay, because their parents are going to buy them enrichment PBS videos or send them to math camp over the summer or something?
And what about the few kids at this Huffman school who DO happen to be poor? Are they supposed to borrow the PBS videos when their richer classmates are through with them?
