And what's wrong with that?
Legislator directed $1.5 million in state funds to family's nonprofit
I mean, it's a nonprofit! Sure, his wife and son were paid by the nonprofit. And sure, he and his wife run the thing. But it's for a good cause! Right?

I love this part. After recapping the charges/complaints against John Hilliard, Sundra Escott, and Hank Sanders:
"No complaint has been filed against Baker with the Ethics Commission, said James Sumner, the commission's director."
I'm surprised Jim Zeigler and Russ & Dee Fine aren't addressed by name and/or that the article doesn't end with the Ethics Commission's mailing address.

ATTENTION
The Following Counties
Autauga, Clarke, Conecuh, Dallas, Lowndes, Monroe, Marengo, Perry and Wilcox
Our State Senator Hank Sanders is under attack. Unfounded charges have been lodged against him. On the surface these charges appear bogus, given nepotism is only relative to appointments made by officials. Hank never appointed Rose Sanders to any position, nor any other family member. If they have the position they have earned the position by consensus of the people they work with. They are qualified to lead and have proven their leadership ability and service to the people. The institutions that they direct are qualified to receive, state, federal and international funding.
Hank Sanders as our representative, is mandated to direct funds to our agencies. We are legally structured government regulated organizations. We serve the needs of the people to the best of our ability and if you want to really help, do the following. Direct the budget you were about to spend to Bridge Serve. During Spring Break 2006 March – April, students will come to Selma, AL and participate in a volunteer experience. It will be a magical experience as they are able to put what they have learned into action.
We invite State Senator Hank Sanders to join us in The Spring Break Student Mobilization Volunteer Selma and Bridge Serve
There is much work to be done.
We invite each of you. If you are a student apply for a sponsorship
If you would like to donate to sponsor a student, you can do so. Just send an email to bridgeserve@yahoo.com and we will forward you further information.
