Have you seen his cartoon today?
It's about soldiers in Iraq not getting adequate body armor, but somehow, neither liberals, Michael Moore, nor Democrats are blamed for it. Either that or Stantis is just too subtle to be understood.
It's not up yet at AL.com or MSNBC .

Maybe that's what it's about. I've gotten some odd searches for "[Right wing jerk] + liberal" in the post, but Stantis?

His cartoons have been critical of Roy Moore. He also supported the Riley tax plan. This could explain why some clowns consider him to be liberal.
This stuff really shouldn't surprise anyone who was around during the 2000 Republican primary in this state (when Moore accused Harold See of being a liberal) or last year's campaign (when one of Tom Parker's ads cited the "liberal Birmingham News" as one the "liberal" newspapers that supported his opponent!).
