Fun with conspiracy theory jokes
CNN.com - 250 miles per gallon? They're doing it - Aug 15, 2005
Politicians and automakers say a car that can both reduce greenhouse gases and free America from its reliance on foreign oil is years or even decades away.Ron Gremban says such a car is parked in his garage.
The next day, some large men from Exxon/Mobil came to visit, and Mr. Gremban was never seen again.

I love how the headline says 250mpg, but the article says Gremban's car gets 80 mpg. And that's just for the first leg while the batteries in the trunk are operating, once those are dry, you're back to 45mpg.
So, the high MPG figure is just good for the first 10-20 miles. What's the mpg on this "250 mpg" experimental model they're talking about, when the average trip is 50 miles? What does it average down to.
I'm all for higher MPG and CAFE standards, but I'm skeptical of 250mpg claims.

Why stop at 250? Say it gets two thousand miles on a gallon. Of anything. Water. Drano. Saliva. And goes 500 MPH and passes through hills. Why a little untruth?
