We all scream
Here's the thing. I really wanted some ice cream. So I went out in the hurricane. It's very windy but the only damage I saw (in a very limited area) were a few uprooted ornamental trees (maybe six feet high) which weren't firmly rooted, one decapitated umbrella, and an overturned trash can. I'm sure there's worse.
I am fine. My apartment is pretty well sheltered by a hill and is far away from the tree line. The wind isn't very strong here.

I hope it was Dreyers or some such fancy brand. If you risked your neck for Safeway's Lucerne brand I'd think you were nuts.

Dennis Not Much of a Menace After All
Posted by Glynn Wilson at 11:58 PM
In the interest of giving you tomorrow's news today, let's just say climate scientists and honest television meteorologists will be debating how and why they missed the forecast so badly on Hurricane Dennis for some time, since it turned out not to constitute such "a record threat" after all. Watch them chalk it up to the "unpredictability of early hurricane season storms," if anyone bothers to ask.
Wilson got around to a Sunday blog column, focusing on the non-event's coverage.

"Ben & Jerry's."
I hope it was Cherry Garcia or some equally worthy flavor.
