Okay, that's just sad. How do you even lose that much money gambling? How do her bosses not notice that much money gone missing?

My favorite is that she lost money on "games of chance." Isn't that the definition of gambling?

Maybe that differentiates, say, the slots or
roulette from something like blackjack,
where some level of skill--like being able to count cards--might come into play.
