He'll probably get defrocked for this
Uncivil religion contrary to
Christ's kingdom, Texas pastor insists
Charlie Johnson, a San Antonio Baptist pastor, has harsh words for those who conflate religion and politics. Like you-know-who:
"We are all for the display of the Ten Command-ments--far more displays and postings of God's law than the misdirected mind of an Alabama judge can possibly conceive," Johnson said."We just want them put where God says to put them--on human hearts that cannot be corrupted by powers and principalities, not on the courthouse lawns."
Ouch. Or how about:
"You can't give your lives whole-hog to Caesar like those folks are doing and put up with Jesus at the same time," he said. "Can somebody please tell me where it says in the canon that we have to get our guy elected to office before we can advance the kingdom of God?"
Book of Roy, Chap. 1, Verses 1-10. What do you mean "it's not canon"?

Here's one for irony. Jesus's statement about Caesar and God was probably the earliest method of seperation of church and state. I may be wrong, but can't think of any other examples..maybe in ancient Greece, but I don't even think then.

Charlie sounds like my kind of Christian...

Cooperative Baptist Fellowship -- I should have known. He's not a "real" Baptist....
Seriously, I wish more pastors would speak up about this and perhaps even mention that Jesus boiled down all of the laws into just two, or maybe only one with two parts.

That Christ's followers were an underclass religious minority in a province occupied by a powerful empire, that they managed to start a religion that came to define western civilization with heavy lifting, not vacant posturing, is lost on Calfophile types (as indeed are most facts).

"Calfophile" -- that's a keeper!

To be clear, that's not mine; it's a Thomason original.
