In the future, every NFL team will have an Auburn running back

al.com: NewsFlash - Auburn's Brown, Williams lead way for state NFL draft picks

Typical Auburn. Four first round draft picks and they go undefeated, and they still can't win the national championship.

Still? If AU counted MNC's the way UA does and included crowns from everything from the AP to "JoeBob's Tractor Pull Almanac" they have several including the 1984 NY Times (following their defeat of Michigan in the Januray 1985 Sugar Bowl), a few more from Terry Bowden's inaugural season and one or two from this past year.

To be honest, unless and until there is some sort of a playoff in D-1 football (just like there is in every other division of NCAA and NAIA football) I'll consider any and all claims to a MNC to be nothing more than popularity contests. Does anyone really believe after their second major bowl spanking in a row that the Oklahoma Sooners were the number one or two team going into the BCS?

Polls are meaningless. It's what is on the field that counts. AU in 2004 had a LOT on the field...and finally had an offensive coordinator who knew how to use it.
