I have returned

Here I am. Nothing to say right now except that I have to clean up all the spam that's gathered over the last three days. So, do they have a new pope yet?

Well, here's a little something from a volunteer poster (better late than never). It seems that gay rights -- not marriage, mind you, but the basic right to hold a job and get housing -- just took a hit in Washington state, of all places. According to The Stranger (http://www.thestranger.com/2005-04-21/feature.html), Microsoft, which had previously lobbied for the addition of sexual orientation to the state's anti-discrimination statutes, quietly pulled its support after threats from a local pastor. The bill just failed by a vote of 25-24.

I can't fathom the desire to deny someone a job or an apartment because that person is gay. And Microsoft, which has been a gay-friendly company in the past, should be ashamed for caving in to the blackmail of one right-wing gay basher. On the other hand, Gerald Allen and Hank Erwin are probably feeling pretty good about now.

Sorry, Mac, I still don't know how to post a link.

Yeah, there's a new pope and he's a real zinger. Contact him at benedictxvi@vatican.va (or benedettoxvi@vatican.va por italiano)
