After Rudolph first went into hiding and the manhunt was in high gear (summer of 1998), we had to travel through Murphy, NC. I thought I was being silly for getting nervous. Now it appears we may have underestimated the risk. What a kook! I wonder how the people who helped him feel now, knowing they could have been blown up while taking covered dish potlucks to his cave.

They are probably wondering why they helped him, when his explosive stash was so tiny compared to the ones they keep in the basements of their own homes.

All's I know is I got a song stuck in my head now. And it's not even the Julie Andrews version. It's that stupid one Chevy Chase sings in "European Vacation": "The hills are alive with the sound of Griswold." Damn you, Mac!

(not really, Mac, but daing you, though)
