The lesser larger of two evils
MSNBC - PETA says Moore's size a weighty issue
Yes, PETA is now attacking people for being fat. One of their targets is Michael Moore. They say he should become a vegetarian. Now, wait a minute... If it's just about weight, what if he went on Atkins? A lot of people have lost weight that way. Heck, I think Atkins is a cult, and half the time I feel like going on it just to piss PETA off.
Great, here I am siding with Michael Moore.

I'm a vegetarian and sadly 60 lbs overweight. To my eternal shame, pizza and beer are both vegetarian. As is pasta in vodka sauce. And cheeze omelets (not vegan, but veggie). And ice cream. And many cookies.
PETA sucks.

Maybe they mean vegan. They're anti-dairy and anti-egg as well. But I'm in the same boat -- overweight, and the reason is chocolate and white bread and cola, not meat.

Of the people who have broadly worthwhile goals and dumbshit ways of going about them, PETA has to be the top of the list. Hint: what Michael Moore needs more of is not veggies. It's exercise.
I hope the fat acceptance people stomp all over PETA, personally.

Have they taken a stance on that other Moore guy yet?

Nah, it's all about the publicity. For both of them. I say there's a conspiracy between the two parties. So what did Moore know, and when did he know it, regarding the PETA veggie conspiracy?

Well, they did go after other, less annoying, celebrities -- Ruben Studdard, John Madden, John Goodman, and (of course) Pavarotti. I can't believe Pavarotti would be in with PETA.

PETA sucks. They definitely win the prize for most counter-productive political group. At best they're a prize-charity for celebrities wasting time.

PETA is nuts. They have likened the killing of chickens for food in the US to the Holocaust. They propose pet owners keep their pets on vegan diets.

PETA proposes vegan diets for pet cats even tho every legititimate animal nutritionist says that will result in severe health probllems for the cats. PETA also says keeping pets is the same as slavery. Is their idea for freeing the cat "slaves" to kill them?

Jim> I always thought cats were the master and we were the slaves. I imagine most cat lovers would agree.
