New tourist hotspot. Literally.

Archives | May 9-15 2004 | Yourish.com

Saudi Arabia is kicking off an effort to get Westerners to take their vacations there. Which makes an awful lot of sense. I mean, who doesn't want to take their vacation in a country with stifling heat, where alcohol is illegal, and you can't practice your religion? Throw in the possibility of being killed by terrorists outraged at you stepping onto the holy sand of the Prophet's home nation, and sign me up!

Don't forget the fun of hanging out in a heavily fortified special compound for Westerners. Some of the other Gulf states have nice malls, and Bahrain has beaches and parks, I've been told.
