There's No Such Thing As Global Warming! (TM)

Right?

CNN.com - Report: Giant Arctic ice shelf breaks up - Sep. 22, 2003

The Arctic's largest ice shelf -- a 3,000-year-old feature -- has broken up, releasing a freshwater lake into the sea. The climate in that area has gotten warmer (0.4 degrees C a year) in recent years, but it has nothing to do with the greenhouse effect. Just don't worry about it. Here, have some oil.

An article on the CTV (Canada) website contains this gem:

"Studies in Antarctica have shown a temperature of 0 C is critical to ice shelves breaking up."

Oh, that's just brilliant. Maybe this will help Canadians learn how to defrost their freezers.

Speaking of global warming...kudzu has now invaded the Chicago area. The Chicago Botanic Garden reported kudzu in Evanston, IL (just north of Chicago) and Indiana authorities found a stand of it in LaPorte County, which borders the Lake and Michigan. Of course, these stands have been eradicated (we think).

Maybe it will smother the purple loosestrife and giant ragweed. One can only hope.

Ya know, Kudzu really would be some kind of miracle plant if it was just useful for ANYTHING. If we could eat Kudzu, the world hunger problem would be solved!

Actually, kudzu is edible, and has been used as a food source in the Far East since ancient times. Unfortunately, ending world hunger isn't about feeding people; it's about keeping people from actively trying to destroy their own food supplies out of hate and fanaticism.

Kudzu tastes terrible.

...and another thing...

When they run a story about someplace very few people have heard of, would it kill them to provide a map?

...and with dramatic melting events in polar regions...

How about a before and after photo (they do have sattelites, it's not like some poor sod has to spend weeks looking at the backside of a huskie before he can snap his instamatic these days)?
